Math Placement Test
All students must take the CSU Math Placement Test before registering for a math course. This test is designed to maximize your chances of success by recommending the most appropriate math course for your level of preparation. The test is un-timed and computer-based. The math placement test might cover problems from algebra, college algebra, and trigonometry, depending on your ability. The test is adaptive, so the problems presented will depend on the correctness of your response to each question.

Students that are required by the Office of Admissions to take the COMPASS Math Test for learning support are not eligible to take the Math Placement Test.

Test fee: Free

For sample problems, go to www.act.org/compass/sample/math.html.
